Gaia Framework for Adobe Flash – Update 1.0.1

June 13th, 2007 by Steven Sacks

At Adobe's request, I have renamed the Gaia Flash Framework to "Gaia Framework for Adobe Flash". Please update to the latest version of the framework by trashing the old installation in the Adobe Extension Manager and downloading the update here: http://www.gaiaflashframework.com/forum/index.php?topic=32.0

This 1.0.1 update includes the following changes:

Class package renamed to gaiaframework, all classes updated, Main.fla linkage IDs updated.
Configuration folder renamed to GaiaFramework.
Minor modification to Main.as – renamed private var "site" to "model".
Changed logo graphics in Panel and page.fla scaffolding template to reflect new name.

Why would you change the name based on Adobe's request? You should be able to name it whatever the heck you want! You still have Flash in there!

Adobe has trademark guidelines when it comes to how Flash is used. Even internally they have to make changes. I'm happy to oblige because it's early and the actual name change is really minor.
