Callaway Golf: Hit It Pure game

Hit It Pure game

I've been working on this game for the past five weeks and it's finally live. Hit It Pure is a golf game where the goal is to drive the ball as far as you can. There are secret power up codes, fun and challenging achievements, and a leader board where you can compete with other players for the top score.

It was a lot of fun making this game with the rest of the team here at Hello Design and I'm really proud of our effort. My father and brother are both avid golfers and they love playing it, which is a good sign!

I think I may have made it a little too easy judging by some of the really high scores on the leader board over the weekend, hehe. Just gotta practice more!

where do you put in the cheats? Where can you find them? Is there a question to the cheats?

  2. Nick

steven that is a nice site! I'm a designer and i've just taken my first steps at learning actionscript. My god, i've just realised how far I got to go!

  3. Chirimbolo

nowhere to put cheats, just type over the game. Some I found:
    titanium: slows the bar
    carbon: 150% power
    fusion: mulligan

I'm still trying to get back wind…

  4. Steven Sacks

The various banners on the Callaway Golf site share all four secret codes.

They're not cheat codes, they're meant to be used strategically to maximize your score and also get the achievements related to using them.

I have obtained all of the achievements except "Be the Ball" and am getting frustrated. Any hints?

I had alot of fun until I hit this wall.

  6. chirimbolo

So what is the code for back wind? I think I tried everything.

    @Johnny K
I am impressed! Flawless Ascension and Blessed By The Gods are really difficult to achieve (nobody in the office has gotten them yet, we've gotten close many times). Be The Ball is actually easier to achieve than Surgical Precision because when you power up the meter actually goes up to 158%, so there's a looser threshold on the power timing than having to hit exactly 100% power. The first time I got 100% accuracy was with 157% power. I guess keep trying. Let me know when you get The 19th Hole!

    Steven,
Thanks for the feedback. I still have not obtained the "Be the Ball" achievement. I think I have hit about 500 shots using “Power Up”. I am sure several have been at maximum strength with perfect accuracy. Each time it is the first ball in the series because I quit after one shot so I can use Power Up again. The shot score is 907. The yardage is 482 and the bonus is 425 (50 for Pure, 75 for Strong Start, 150 for longest, and 150 for Seven in One).

Is it possible there is a reason I am not getting the “Be the Ball” achievement? Perhaps it can’t be combined with a “First Shot” or I am not taking something into consideration.

I guess I will just keep trying.

I am enjoying the game and think you have created a great marketing tool. There are some things I would do differently or add, but that is easy for me to say not being a developer.

I would prefer to be on the lynx but this provides a similar amount of frustration as the real game.

    Again, Thanks.

  10. Steven Sacks

Definitely possible. I just did it.

    Be The Ball

Man, being a golfer and an Art Director, I love you and I hate you for making this. Ive been playing it for the last 3 hours. 4,670 high score.
It would be great if I could share scores and achievements with my golf buddies, cause we're battling and I suspect some photoshopped screengrabs, ergggg.
Thanks again, for a golfer this a massively addictive game :)

  12. JSF

seriously I havent done any work today. if callaway takes this microsite down, you gotta send me the swf.

  13. Vianney

    This game is greate.

what is the code for In the zone please ?

  14. Immelman

Right…..I think all the codes are here….
Titanium:In The Zone (Slows the Bar)
    Carbon:Power up(150% Power Max)
    Fusion:Mulligan(Drive Again)
    Distance:Wind at your back(more distance)

  15. Fumin

This game is so addicting. The funny part is that I don't even play real golf.

  16. JSF

i got the 19th hole. nothing happened. I expected fireworks :(

  17. Dave Mc

Maybe a future code could be:
    The Leather Wedge

I guess cause we're all trying to get extra distance for nothing. haha
    Great Little Game !!

  18. Lincoln Muri

Be the ball is the hardest one for me yet. I have driven for over 1.5 million yards and unlocked almost every achievement except be the ball and blessed by the gods. I'll keep trying. There is some great actionscript in here Steven, and the marketing angle is pure genius.

  19. mikeboy

How do I enter my codes? And where do I find the banners with the codes? I have looked on where to add codes but I can not find it!

  20. Will Franzen

how did the leader get over 10,000 yards its making me mad

  21. Gary Heap

Superb site, very addictive but how do you get the secret codes???

  22. Steven A

I just unlocked the 19th hole expecting to be able to play on a different course screen….little did i know all of my tiresome work at this game, while at work of course, all went for nothing. The 19th hole is just another lame achievement to earn you points for unlocking all the other achievements.

  23. mark

do you have to perform a perfect strike to make the codes work when you enter them as when i put them in they dont seem to work dont understand how the leader has that yardage

  24. Dean E

Tried the codes for the latest game, Demon drive and worked out that Diablo is a mulligan, Distance is wind behind, Titanium is The Zone but can't work out what is power up, Carbon doesn't work so what can it be? i've tried many words from the callaway website without luck!!! AAArrGH please help? ;0(

  25. Owen

can anyone help and be a sport with the cheat codes please as like dean said fusion was not one of the key words and carbon doesnt work either so what is the key word for 150% power up?????

  26. Carla

this is really fun…and it is really good to know the secret codes. can someone please help us out with the secret code for 150% power up? many thanks in advance. :-)

  27. Golf Balls Galore

ok so it looks like everyone has good things to say about it and since it is winter time i need someting to do since i cant be out on the course im going to get one and post back

  28. Jimmie

Anyone find out the 150% Power Up Code?

  29. David Henry

Did you take down the game?? Please bring it back or let me know the site name.

  30. Ron

where do i go to play this game? could someone please post the link directly to the game…i've tried the one posted here and it just takes me to the callaway golf web site. thanks

  31. Ron

"DIABLO" is the code for a Mulligan minus the quotation marks…if anyone can help out with the code for the 150% power up?

  32. Jay

    http://www.demon-drive.com/?email-mgm

    titanium = in the zone
    distance = wind
    diablo = mulligan

  33. zigzag

how do you hit the ball in the water?

  34. Dan

how do i put the codes in? I need to win this

  35. itsquire

Ok has anyone come up with the Power Up code? I have used just about every single word associated with power from Callaway's website. Some one has to know the code? Come on and share, there is no way we are going to be able catch 55,000 anyway so let's all just have some fun.

  36. Eoin

    Codes are as follows

    DISTANCE
    DIABLO
    TITANIUM
    power up ???? DONT KNOW

Just type the word in on you keyboard anytime during the game,
Anyone figured out the power up code ?

  37. Rookie

I'm not sure how these guys can be getting 58k totals. my best rounds dont even give more then 6k so thats a total of 30k, half what the people in the winning are getting.

  38. Stetson

    Steven,

Is there any way of getting the hit it pure object? I love that game.
